I vote for the second one too. The military styling is a bit more subtle on the second coat, so I think it looks more classic and wearable than the first.

I want to say #1, but largely because it's significantly longer... #2 is pretty short. But then again I think you said you're in CA, so that's probably not a huge issue. I think #1 is more unsual but 2 is more classic... I guess it just depends what you're looking for. I can't tell which I like better, myself.
