If you want to wear one of your strappy dresses, just throw a cardigan or sweater over it.  I think shoes depend on what you are comfortable wearing.  If you can wear open toes and won't freeze then wear them. HTH!

I just went to a wedding  yesterday and it was pretty cold (upper 30s/lower 40s).  I wore a tulle cocktail dress from Banana with a pashmina and open-toe sandals, and I found that I fit right in.  I didn't see anyone in closed-toe shoes, but I'm sure if you had the right kind you'd be fine.  Chances are you'll be inside most of the time, anyway, so you won't get too cold.  Just choose a dress in a deeper, more wintry shade like jade, eggplant, or burgundy to winterize the look a bit.  Hope this helps!
