How do I stretch the calf on my boots?
Permalink Closed

I just got these boots and they're super cute, but they're a bit tight in the calf.  Is there any way to stretch them?  Is this something I can do at home or should I take them into a shoe repair shop to have them do it?

there are boot trees (or boot shapers) you can buy, but you may have to go to a shoe repair shop to buy them (or on-line).

i recently got a couple of pairs of my boots stretched by a cobbler (and also shortened), but that's b/c i needed them to be stretched out quite a bit so i could tuck in my jeans.  however, if you only need them to be stretched just a bit, you can try inserting a tightly rolled towel and leaving it in a couple of days -- that worked for my chloe boots (althought the leather for that pair was really soft and supple).  i also read that you can use a 2 liter bottle of soda in lieu of the towels.  i've never tried that, but it's worth giving it a shot.
