I was just wondering if your hair became damaged or breaks more easily. I have heard that this hair procedure can be really damaging to the hair and I was curious if you are still as happy with the straightening now as you were when you first got it? TIA!
i got it done about 3 yrs ago and my hair starting breaking off right at the top 2 weeks later, about an inch away from my scalp. i had dyed my hair twice within 2 months prior to getting the straightening done and the stylist didnt recommend that I wait, but instead she did the procedure anyway to my hair, therefore all the breakage. If anyone is getting the japanese straightening done, i suggest you go to a good salon with people that arent only after your money and keep your hair healthy before the procedure to avoid any *unfortunate incidents*.
i also didnt like how flat my hair looked after the procedure. after my hair grew a bit, it started looking a bit odd since I have natural wavy hair, it would look really poofy up by my roots and then towards the ends, my hair looked super flat. I wouldnt get the straightening done again and i've realized that flat ironing my hair is defninitely not as damaging as putting all the chemicals in my hair.
ohh..and it does last for about 8 months...
sorry for the long post, im still a bit bitter about my hair falling out.
Uh-oh.....wear did you get yours done, shopaholic? We both live near NYC & I really want to try getting it done but if someone's already had a bad experience, I'm definately NOT going there!!!
