How long does your stylist spend on your haircut?
Permalink Closed

I got my hair cut at this new place today, and the girl, though she was super nice, only spent about 15 minutes cutting my hair? Is this normal? When I was in Scotland my stylist took almost an hour! When I came back to the states, I was surprised when my stylist only spent about 30 minutes cutting my hair. But 15? I don't see how she could have done much in 15 minutes. Or am I being too picky? TIA!

If you're happy with your cut, I don't think the time they spend matters.  It scares me sometimes when stylists spend a long-ass time cutting - it makes me think that they're having trouble achieving their goal with my hair, which makes me doubt their ability.

If you're not happy with it, then the fast cut probably mean they did a sloppy job.  In that case I'd go back and have them tweak it if you're comfortable with it, or call the manager and have them issue you a credit or something so you can see someone else in the salon to fix it.

30 minutes seems average to me.

About 30 minutes. I think sometimes the time they take depends on how long your hair is or how involved the style is.

it depends on what i am getting done.

lately, its been a "trim and texturizing" so its been about 15-20 minutes of hair flying everywhere and i'm done.

when i'm doing something extreme, its more around 30-45 minutes.

it also depends on which stylist i am seeing as well.  i've found that the longer the stylist has been around the shorter the times.

My haircuts always take 15-20 minutes and i've never had an issue with my stylists' competance.

Thanks! I do like the haircut, it just seemed so short to me. But I did only ask for 1-1/2 inches off.
