What color shoes w/navy?
Permalink Closed

Okay, so I just bought some new navy dress pants.  What color shoes do I wear with them?  Can you wear black shoes with navy or not?  They are a pretty dark navy and I plan on wearing them with  a kelly green Banana Republic v-neck sweater.  Would brown be better?  I do not have navy shoes...

I would probably wear my red shoes with navy pants.  Either that or black if I wanted to wear flats.

i was never really a fan of black shoes with navy pants before, but DH wears black shoes with his navy suits all the time, and i think the look is growing on me, especially for a conservative work environment.

that said, i'd probably go with burgundy, nude, or a metallic color like pewter.

I wore a navy sweater with gray pants and black shoes...navy shoes looked stupid with the outfit...

As for pants, I probably wouldn't wear black.  Probably tan or red.

ditto to all of this. I don't wear black shoes with navy, but I don't think it looks awful. I usually prefer burgundy, pewter or nude. I think grey would work, too.

I agree that a metallic or nude would look better than a black, I think. A pattern incorporating brighter colors could be fun, too.

I'm with valenciana exactly.  Depending on the season, I wear my navy pants/shirtdress with off-white/nude, grey/silver, or red/burgundy.  HTH!

I like tan or bronze, but you know, I bet gold or silver would be awesome too.  I don't own a ton of navy, but I might change my ways!
