ok, i have a big greasy spot on the crown of my head.  my hair is greasy and it is only in one spot.  it's been there for a week and a day now and it is making me crazy.  i have tried washing my hair twice a day, not washing my hair for a day, washing it with dawn dishsoap, rubbing alcohol, it won't go away.  it is slightly better than it was in the beginning.  it was stiff at first like i didn't wash out all my conditioner, and now it is not stiff, it just looks like i don't wash my hair.  and it feels like i sprayed a bunch of hairspray on top of my head.  any suggestions on what to do?  i am running out of ideas.

you could try a clarifying shampoo. that might help!

otherwise, when my hair is grease city i use a spray dry shampoo. the kind i use is batiste, but i don't know how readily available that is everywhere. i remember reading a good review on psssssst spray shampoo, which they have at drugstore.com so is probably readily available in a drugstore near you...

Rosemary-Mint shampoo is supposed to have astringent properties, so it might help. Aveda makes one, and Costco use to sell one that I *think* was made by de-luxe.

Also, you can mix some baking soda in with your regular shampoo and it will help to clarify too.

my first thought was a clarifying shampoo as well.
