Review on Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse

So I thought that I would give this a whirl seeing as how many of you ladies raved about it in the foundation poll...

WOW!!  It is amazing!  I have been using Vincent Longo Water Canvas for the past 2 years and I am totally switching.  My face looks incredible and I love the way that it goes on, not to mention the $7 price tag.  Any of you ladies that use the VL and hate the $55 price tag I would suggest using this because I think that it is way better.  I also won't be upset if it happens to dry up (which happens a lot with the VL) before I am done using it because of the cost.  Whenever that would happen with the VL I wanted to kill someone because of how much it costs. I also think that it will be great when I have a tan that I won't cringe at spending so much to buy a new color that I will only need for a little while.

Yay - thanks so much for the recommendation ladies, I couldn't be happier:)!!!

I'm glad someone else converted! I love this foundation more than any other makeup I have.

I've had my current one for a while, since the middle of the summer, and it hasn't dried up yet. Of course, I'm not at the end of it yet so maybe it will dry up... but I figure having a pretty face for three months already is worth $7!

i really like the look and feel of this foundation too, but it doesn't come in a close enough match to my skin color.  i was using the cover girl true match whipped which has almost the same thing going on, but i was outdoors last weekend with it on and realized that the color i thought was  a great match, isn't really so much.  i was so embarrassed since i have been wearing it all the time for almost a month now and just realized i was in a makeup nightmare.

now i want to try this!  any tips on finding a good match for your skintone w/drugstore foundations?? I never know so I don't even bother.  I've heard this one runs slightly dark on makeup alley.  What color do you girls use?  I have pale-ish skin that can get red sometimes- i can tan, but for the most part, it has cool undertones.

Actually I just put the top of the jar up to the back of my hand and picked the one closest.  It worked, thank the lord!!  I am pretty fair, but I use JNG face bronzer as my moisturizer amlost everyday so I am using the Nude 4 in the DM Mousse.  HTH!!!

I have been using the dream mousse shadow and I really like it. I was considering getting a foundation too but can anyone tell me what the finish is like? Does it look more powdery or more dewey? Does it last long on your skin or do you need touch ups?

It was kind of confusing picking one out. I'm so pale that I usually have to get the palest color, but I feel like in this I wasn't. My Target had a small display thing hanging on the wall, and you were supposed to put your arm (or I guess your face if you have a friend, that'd be more accurate) underneath and you were supposed to see which shade matched or something. It's hard to explain, but it was better than just a chart with the shades painted on. You could hold it up until you could see the shade disappear on your skin. I guess if I were you I'd try going to a place like Target or Meijer, where they have the big makeup aisles with the display stuff. Small drugstores don't have room for those all the time.

I would purchase it at CVS or Wal-mart 'cause they let you return makeup if you aren't satisfied with the shade (even w/o a receipt).

I've been wanting to try this, but I read on MUA that it caused a lot of girls to breakout pretty badly.  I'm already acne prone..is anyone else that's used it?

Is there anything you can tell me about the shadow? I thought about picking some up last night because I remembered you saying you really like it... but I'm still a little wary. I don't know why, I love the foundation! I guess for some reason it just seems like it might not last or that it would crease really badly. Do you have any problems with it?

I haven't broken out more since I've been using it. I don't have crazy acne but I'm definitely more prone to it than a lot of other people. I use this foundation almost every day...you don't need a lot to cover up so I don't think it's a huge concern.

It's really great. It doesn't crease and its fairly longwearing, even though it is sheer. But you can put more on if you want a stronger look without it looking goopy or anything. The only problem I had was getting used to spreading it with fingers insted of a brush and getting it right into the corner of my eye without smearing it all over.

I tried the foundation yesterday and it was just too dry-looking for my dry skin. I'm disappointed, I really love the texture of it.
