And I like them, but the calf is a little large. It's a stretchy-type material, so I'm wondering if there's a way to make them smaller so they stay like in the picture and don't slouch. Although I like the slouch of some boots, I want these to look like they do in this picture. Any ideas?
I think you would have to make the ankle smaller or stiffer so they don't slouch there. even if they were tight around your calf, they would still naturally sag and slouch at the ankle. If they were cuffed, I would tell you try to put a rubber band on under the cuff as a easy test to see if they would stay up if they are tighter at the top, but that doesn't appear to be an option. Since they are fabric? I would take them to a shoe repair shop and see if they can sew down the shaft for you. They may also be able to sew in some boning at the back to keep the shaft stiff.

I was thinking about this last night and I thought that stuff that makes some VS underwear not show (it's like a rubbery material) might work. So I guess double-sided tape isn't that far off! But then I think it's more that it slouches at the ankle and I tried them on again, looked at a couple of other people in these types of boots, and decided it's ok. I may try to put in a petal in the back where my ankle goes just to see if that helps stiffen it up a little, but I think I'm ok if it doesn't work out. It's my first pair of stretchy boots, so I think I just have to not compare them to the way a leather boot fits.
