do i need round toe boots? will they be around for a few years?
i ordered these boots from Delia's and got them today... the style is super cute and are precisely what i wanted (i'm very picky), but the leather is a little disappointing. it's kind of thin and black stuff rubbed off all over my hands just from trying them on. i bought them cause they're cheap ($80) and i'm on a semi-shopping ban right now. i doubt i could find anything in leather for the same price...but i don't want to waste money on boots that aren't nice and i won't wear.
i've had these black boots for a few years...i settled for them cause they were insanely cheap at TJ Maxx, but the toe is sort of squared off...i don't want to look dumpy and out of style, are these boots just totally passe? or could i squeeze another year out of them? (my instincts tell me not to keep wearing them, but my wallet is saying otherwise!)
i've found a few pairs similar to the delia's ones for ~$130, but it becomes a slippery slope...if another 50 bucks is okay, why not just spend even more and get some really nice boots?
blah blah blah...to the point, will i look goofy in my old boots? or is it worth it to spend a little more on new ones? the extra $50 won't break me, but it would pay for my parking for a month!
I don't know about whether you could make due with your old ones (I think you could) but I think you should definitely return those from delias. If black rubbed all over your hands just trying them on, they'll definitely wear out after only a day or two!

I actually like a slightly square toe. It's sort of a happy balance between a real square and a pointy toe.
I would take back the delia's ones. I am pretty sure you should not have stuff rubbing off already, and you could probably find nine west or franco sarto with a code for only a little bit more.
It's just me, but I would probably hold out and save until I found a pair that I really liked. But, until then, I think your current boots are actually really cute.
Like the other girls said, I'd return the Delia's, hang onto the ones you have, and continue scouring sites and stores until you find your dream boot. The ones you have are a pretty classic shape. Good luck!
Oh, and I'm disappointed to hear that the Delia's boots aren't the best of quality... I was thinking about ordering those! The shape is so cute. Oh, well...
IMO the square toes look dated. I think you can find a pair of round toe boots for cheap. At Marshall's I saw a super cute Nine West pair for $80. They were round toe, black, and the leather was surprisingly nice. They looked vintage-y. I can't find them online, but the style was called "Highness." I would have gotten them if I could zip them over my big calves.

i bought the ones zeitgeist is talking about! they are super cute, but i am on the fence because 3" heels are higher than what i normally wear. (although from wearing them around the house, they feel comfortable for the height)
I agree that the square toes look dated. The ones from Marshall's are really cute. I have seen a quite a few other cute black boots at marshall's recently too.
too bad about the delia's ones. i'm kind of in the same situation -- bought a pair BP boots at nordie's anniv. sale b/c they were inexpensive but the leather looks cheap.
I agree that the square toe looks a little dated. I got these cute round toe black boots from Baker's and the leather is pretty good and even better, they're on sale for $59.99:
I think you should return the Delias boots and try to find another pair of round-toe boots. I found a couple on Zappos...Hopefully you like them.
Report $86 Blink $73
The Report boots got good reviews saying they were really comfortable...if you like them I would check them out soon...they are on sale and sometimes Zappos changes their sale prices.
