Sorry, didn't really know where to post this. I ordered something from Anthro on Sept. 22 and they sent me an email saying it shipped the 26th with a tracking number. I keep checking the usps web site and this is the message I'm getting:
The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper or shipping partner on September 25, 2006 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.
WTF is that? I called anthro and they said I should contact the post office to get the issue resolved.
USPS never (or at best, randomly and very intermittently) updates tracking info. Tracking through USPS is virtually useless. I've had that message still show up after I'd received the package...and apparently as far as they know it hasn't even been shipped out yet. Lame. But it's the government, what more can you expect?

Thanks, good to know. I guess my package is probably lost then..because I doubt it would have taken this long to arrive here.
I don't know... I've gotten that message before but it's kind of like what valenciana said, the tracking doesn't really mean jack shit. Do you live in an apartment building or have a PO Box? I was waiting on a package forever a week or two ago, and I was getting really frustrated that it didn't come and the tracking info was so useless. I always get one of those little cards when I have a package too big for my box, so I kept waiting for it and finally I got one that said "Final notice" and said they were going to ship it back if I didn't come pick it up after a few days.
So my point is... do you get the actual packages, or do you get a slip in your mailbox? If you get a slip, maybe you accidentally threw it out with some junk mail or something. If you don't have it in a few days, maybe go to the post office and see if they have anything sitting around for you?

This has happened to me too. The last time was something i bought on ebay from the CA. That message was up for almost a month, until suddenly it turned into package was delivered and it was at my post office that day.
I wouldn't assume that it's lost. my aforementioned package took over a month to get from CA to CT, which is ridiculous -- it shouldn't take much more than a week. i have heard numerous stories lately about mail taking insane amounts of time to arrive. (3 weeks for a letter from CT to NY, etc.)
