I have the one bex got also. (It was a gift, I'm not a Burberry type of gal.) But I've found it to be surprisingly versatile. It goes with black, brown, tan, red - basically all my generic winter jackets. I still don't wear it very much but I'll throw it on at least once a season.
Well, you know how I am...don't like the "typical" burberry scarves that everyone fakes...so, I think you should get a less common type one...here are a few i like...
I have the classic tan novacheck pattern but in boucle so it is not like the fakes at all. I love it- it's really soft, not itchy, and I get lots of wear out of it during the winter time.

I had thought about the boucle, the price is a little more reasonable considering I'm in Southeast Oklahoma and we don't have very many really cold days a year. (Christmas last year was a frosty 62).
But I think I liked the boucle style more even before I saw that i cost less...maybe that means I should buy it!!!???

I have this one: I actually got it on sale at Saks for $60 last year around Christmas time. If you can't justify the price of a cashmere one, this is a good alternative. It also comes in other colors if you don't want to go with the traditional tan.
