Does anyone know how to root coleous and grow it as an indoor plant?

Remind me what "rooting" is again. I had tons of Collius in HS that I grew successfully indoors.

Taking cuttings and growing roots from them to plant. I've had mine in water for a week and nothing yet. I may try dipping them in that rooting powder stuff.

I'd try rooting it in sterile potting mix - the kind you can get for starting seeds.  Do multiple cuttings so you have more than just one chance for it to take!

I believe I put the clippings directly in little pots (like the teeny ones that you start seedlings in). I think I skipped over the part where you put them in h2o. Sorry, this was 17 yrs ago so i'm a little foggy.

Have you seen anything yet? Once again, late chiming in, but they should root in plain old water on a sunny windowsill. Did you pluck off most of the leaves? Soils and powders and solutions shouldn't be necessary.

After a week, nothing! But at about 10 days they sprouted. I potted 2 of my 3 sets of cuttings and they are doing great. I have one more grouping of cuttings that I REALLY need to plant, but haven't yet. It's on my list for tomorrow though. I'm off from work.
