I'm so pathetic. I got all upset at work the other day and I really want to quit and go home. I'm so homesick, I hate talking to people, and I had an anxiety attack in the middle of the office. But DH doesn't want me to quit and bribed me with a new bag if I make it through the election (he knows me too well )

I was planning on getting a speedy for myself, but now that it's not my money being spent, and he gave me a $2,000 limit, I may want something else.

What would you get? I want something classic, and I tend to like bigger bags.

ETA: I've always loved this bag, and am considering it, but I balk at spendign that much on a bag (~$1600, before taxes). There is an outlet nearby that I might be able to find something similar at...


This Mulberry is also gorgeous, but does it look to much like I'm trying to look like I have a birkin? I also feel like such a poser with inspired-by bags...even though this one looks fairly different to me at least. (a little under $1,000... I might be able to get a pair of shoes out of the deal too

Get a YSL Muse!! Out of all the "it" bags right now, I think it's the only one that is truely classic.

Sorry, I know you didn't ask... but if it was me I would probably just quit and buy the bag anyway. At least you would have a gorgeous bag when looking for a new job you actually like. And you're not pathetic at all!

I wish.... but he absolutely doesn't want me to. I understand it...we want to buy a house in Jan. and we really need the second income just to look good on paper. I can quit after then if I want (but at that point, its easy work...normal length days in town so I might as well stay on for a while for the extra money until campaign season rolls around again...no way in hell am I sticking around for this crap again!)

I might have to find a place to see the api speedy in person. I love the way it looks online, but I've never seen it irl. I do like that though... and and sould probably con him into a pair of shoes since its cheaper...

does anyone have a picture of someone carrying the muse? I feel like I need to see it that way to understand the proportions... it looks so bottom-heavy to me, like the straps are to thin or something?

i saw Chanel all the way.  i ended up getting the Luxury by Chanel bowling bag, and it completely surpasses all my other purses in terms of style and quality.  (i have a couple of LVs, Guccis, and MJs)  The deerskin leather is so soft and supple, it's lined in leather, and i can't imagine it ever going out of fashion.  They have some new styles out for fall, so i'd definetely recommend checking it out.


as for the gucci hobo, i have the fabric version, and it's HUGE.  i'm not sure if it's the best option for work -- while it's roomy and can fit a ton of stuff inside, it only has one big zippered pocket inside, so it's hard to find small things like your keys and cell phone if you're carrying around a lot of things.
