No, I'm not late... but my period was a lighter last time, and I know you can still have some bleeding if you are pregnant...

It's just me being paranoid, I think, but it's still freaking me out. I've been nasceuous all week without cause and without getting better despite my best efforts, and I was watching some show last night where that was what tipped the lady off, and I guess the thought just festered in my head...to the point where I'm skipping class right now because I just couldn't wait any longer to take the test. I'm on the pill and mostly we've used condoms, so I feel like it's unlikely, but then I also read some story about some lady who got pregnant descpite using BCP...I'm sick so I have time to sit around the house and read and watch these things, and then I have time to sit and convince myself that that's what's going on with me, too...

Usually the stories about people getting pregnant on BCP leaves out the part that they took their pills incorrectly - missed one or took them at way different times or took antibiotics at the same time and didn't use a backup method or had the stomach flu and didn't think about the fact they were heaving their pills before they could get out of their stomachs.  If you're taking them correctly, the chances of you becoming pregnant are very slim.

Also, BCP does not effect the accuracy of pregnancy tests.  They do not contain the hormone that the tests are designed to pick up when a pregnancy is present.

I was in a similar situation last year, and took a couple tests just to ease my mind.  Much lighter periods, severe nausea I just couldn't kick, etc.  Turned out that our move to a much higher altitude was causing me some issues that was affecting how my body processed the pills, and I had been trying to cut back on my calories - apparently too much because my body freaked out, hence the nausea.

If you really want a definitive answer, test again after your period is due (like mid-placebo week) whether or not you're bleeding.  Just to make sure and get the worrying out of your head .
