I have a really nice gold baume et mercier watch that I would wear daily. I guess I shouldn't have because moisture got in the mechanisms and it and it had to be cleaned - now it hasn't been keeping time and it's going back to the watch repair shop AGAIN. A couple hundred dollars later in repairs, I'm kind of coming to terms with the fact that I shouldn't be wearing it as an everyday watch when and if they ever get it running right... With that in mind, I need a new watch that is less delicate. I've always liked invicta watches and am deciding between these two:
#1 - I can get this one for around $100:
#2 - or this one for around $100 too:
both have 23k gold plating on the case and band and normally run around $450...
ETA: I just found the second one for around $100, so cost comparison is no longer a factor...
there's also these too:
this one is more like $130:
and I love the black face, but I want to be able to wear it with everything, and I'm not sure black is right - especially with all the creams I've gravitated to lately:
gratuitious profile shot of the watch:

ok, now that I'm looking at the first one more, I'm noticing something odd -- see where the 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 markers are? the 3:00 looks more like 4:00 to me... does anyone else see that? I'd just hate to have to figure it out beyond a glance... I'm starting to gravitate toward #2...

ooh, now that you say that, its all screwy between 3 and 9. That would confuse the hell out of me! I liek the last two best now.

yeah - I already have a stainless watch, but it looks funky when I wear my yellow gold wedding set (I usually just wear my wedding band when I wear the SS one - it's less polar)
this is my other watch (you can see I like a curved crystal and guilloche )

OOoh, I just saw the new ones you added, and I like this one the best of all. I know you said the black isn't as versatile, but could you swing this one in addition to the gold? I think it's the coolest of all of them:

enabler! I was thinking the same thing... it's so cool and retro. it's what turned me on to the baby lupahs in the first place - the black face with gold numbers... I just bought the gold one (#2) - $99 BIN + 7.99 s/h/i... the black one is the last one left at smart bargains and is marked down to $99... I'll make a new account to get 15% off... maybe I can find a free shipping code... because I do need both, right?

zeitgeist - I really liked that one too - if it had a black face, I would have been all over it. The nice thing about the leather band lupahs is that you can buy other bands - there's an olive green reptile band on ebay I may snag - maybe I can find the one on the limited watch too...
ok - here's my damage - thank you all for helping and enabling in the thought process

great choices! also d, for what its worth, i have a baume & mercier too (the catwalk) that has spent more time in repair than on my wrist... they are gorgeous but really don't hold up well!
