What snack food(s) do you keep at work? I have my own fridge, so I can keep fruit and things, but what do you do?

I have lots of ideas!  I snack pretty much all day at work, rather than eat one big meal, so I have lots of options nearby.

Try low-fat string cheese, Trader Joe's trail mix (they have so many kinds, so you can mix it up and never get bored), grapes, pudding cups, almonds or cashews, baby carrots, or dried fruit.  If you have a microwave, I also recommend keeping low-fat microwave popcorn at your desk -- it fills you up and is relatively low in calories. Hope this helps!

here's what I liked to keep in my stash at work

  • Misc. fruits & vegetables (carrots, grapes, tomatoes, edamame...things that are easy to snack on)

  • Kashi Good Friends Cereal & Vanilla Soy Milk

  • Trader Joe's misc. nuts/trail mixes.

  • Natural Peanut Butter, Strawberry preserves, and Whole Wheat bread for PB&J

  • Fixings for regular sandwiches (cold cuts, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, etc. etc.)

  • Jello Sugar Free (w/Splenda) puddings (I liked to eat with peanut butter)

  • Graham Crackers

  • Regular crackers (I kept Wheat Thins and Triscuits in the drawer)

  • candy bowl filled with misc. candy (sometimes it was Japanese milk candy, another time it was Take 5's)

  • personal chocolate stash. I like to keep a bar of Ritter Sport Dark Chocolate with Hazelnuts on hand.

best. thing. ever.

i like to have:

  • pretzels (hanover's honey mustard and onion pretzel chunks )
  • some sort of yogurt cereal bars
  • an assortment of teas so i can fill up my stomach
  • almonds or cashews
  • just-add-water soups

there's only a gross, smelly, moldy communal fridge, so i just keep dry non-perishable foods.

Lately I'm a fan of the "100 Calorie packs" from Nabisco.  Since they're individually packaged I can control the portions I eat instead of opening a big sack of cheese-its and munching on them all day!

I also like to keep baby carrots, sugarsnap peas, and other raw veggies to munch on in the fridge.  I also have odwella and luna nutrition bars for when I skip breakfast or after I work-out.
