Some friends and I are planning a big surprise trip to Vegas for my bf's 30th birthday in July. Sine we have almost a year to plan it, I'm not sure when to book. We have always gone last minute and gotten pretty good prices doing it that way. At the moment packages are about $600 which isn't too bad but should I wait and see if they'll get cheaper in the next couple of months? When is the best time to book for the best price?
Fyi- there will be between 4-8 of us. I'm not fussy about which hotel however I do want to stay on the strip. We stayed off the strip last time and it wasn't good.
hmm since you have a year to plan it I would think you should easily be able to watch the prices for a few months and see the trends - like which days the prices go up and down and who starts running specials when. For disney I booked my package when they ran a special and then waited on the air line tickets for about 3 months until they hit their sale and did fairly well. I did stalk airlines every day during those three months and began to chart the increases and decreases in prices.
