I am moving to Montana soon, and I am in need of a new winter coat. The trouble is....I can't decide whether I should get a wool pea coat type, or an all out snow coat ( NORTH FACE). I live in Germany right now, and I cannot imagine it being any more cold in MT, and I have usually just worn a nice longer length wool coat here and have been fine. I just wonder if a snow coat would be more condusive?? Any advice???

You cannot have too many coats and jackets up north! I even wore my down jacket out yesterday evening! Since you will be wearing them a lot it's good to have a selection of sporty and dressier coats. Bluefly is a good place to look for a large variety at a good price.
A black sporty down coat you can wear with just about anything.

Lane Bryant has some nice stuff -
$95$79
$120$119
Honestly, I'd probably skip the fancy wool coat and get a fluffier winter coat. Montana is very very casual, so I think you'd get more use out of something warmer and roomier.
