I'm going with a friend of mine to see a play at the Kennedy Center.  It starts at 7:30.  We are going with a bunch of her coworkers (her company has tickets).  Is the below dress appropriate? 



Necklace close up (sorry for the boob shot)



If so, what shoes should I wear?  Here are a few options.

I think that the dress is appropriate, though some people may be more dressed up than you (if that is of jersey material). I would go with the pink shoes, I like the idea of brown and pink.

I like the first pair of shoes with the dress. I've never been to the Kennedy Center, but that dress would be completely appropriate for seeing a play in NYC, if that helps.

I was just thinking that in NYC you would probably be one of the best-dressed people in the audience. I think the first pair of shoes would be really cute with that dress.

I think it's appropriate and very cute!  I love the snake skin shoes with it.  Every time I go to the Kennedy Center, I see people show up for plays and concerts in jeans, running suits, t-shirts, etc.  It makes me sad.

Basket - I know what you mean about underdressing at the Kennedy Center.  I find it upsetting as well.  There are so few things that people dress up for anymore it shouldn't be difficult to dress up for one evening.

I've been to a few things @ the KC before. Did you have fun? Depending upon the play or event, people can dress up a bit fancy:) I liked the 2nd pair..I hope you chose those.
