Auth. LV at thrift shop?
Permalink Closed

What are the odds of a luis vuitton at a thrift shop being authentic?  My mom saw one, but the store was closed so she couldn't go in and look at it.  It is the backpack.  Im wondering if its worth it for me to go in the morning to check it out.  But im not sure if id even know if its real, or what price to expect it to be.  I dont want to pay alot since it is at a thrift store.

What do you girls think?  Anyone have any experience with this?  Its hard to believe someone would give their precious LV to a thrift store!!

i'm going to say no here.

if it was a more obscure label, i wouldn't hesitate to say "yes" but fake lv's show up all the time at the thrift near me.

Yeah, I agree. I've seen ton's of fakes around here too.

I think that it depends on the quality of the thrift store. If it sometimes carries fairly nice stuff, I think that it's a remote possibility -- I've seen things by Pucci, Chanel, YSL, Chloe, etc. at thrift stores that, while generally selling things that are very not brand name, sometimes have amazing finds. Also, since the item in question is a backpack as opposed a more classic handbag, I can imagine how someone might want to get rid of it.

Anyhow, I'd proceed with great caution, but if you love LV, it might be worth checking out. And maybe make a checklist of things to look for in fakes before you go.
