Ok Ladies: Here's a challenge. I've been invited to a casual wedding in the Berkshires, exactly in Stockbridge, Massachussets in the beginning of October. I have no idea what to wear.
For one, I've never been to a casual wedding, and two, I've never been to the Berkshires...I would appreciate any suggestions. I love fashion, and always look forward to weddings, so that I can shop for a cute dress, so now I'm stumped. FYI: the invitation also says there will be croquet and other such games...and strongly cautions against wearing heels-which I love since I"m only 4'11...
PLEASE help!

dress warmly. by october it'll be quite cool in the berkshires. i live near there, and it was 43 degrees when i woke up this morning. also, in my experience it's pretty casual there, so i wouldn't doubt that at a "casual berkshires" wedding you'll see some flannel or something.
that said, i'd wear a simple dress with a cardigan (in case it's chilly) and heels, and bring flats that would work with the dress just in case you decide to partake in the croquet or other activities.

I have the black dress by Ella Moss that FP posted and love it -- I think it would work well for a casual wedding, and could be layered to keep you warm. Of course, I'm biased since I own this.
I *finally* saw the flowered dress in real life at Anthro today (perhaps I should post an update under the original thread?)
It turns out to be VERY casual-- the print is much lighter than they show in the catalog/online, almost a light grey.
The dress certainly won't work for my black tie affair, and I didn't love it as much in person as I had hoped, but it could definitely be cute for a casual wedding!
