Just browsing shopbop.com and found these beauties... Opinions? They are $290 (not bad for boots). I am not familar with this brand. Has anyone heard of them? What do you girls think?
also comes in chocolate brown (shown in stone and black)
Also last thing I need since I bought a pair of slouchy vintage Fryes last year and a pair of campus in banana super cheap... but just like this low heel
yeah I think about eight of us bought those last week... I think a few of the girls have received them already ans say they look beautiful IRL. I love those low-heel Fryes, but $400 is pretty painful.
I got the Dolce Vita boots in grey and LOVE them! They can be worn tall or slouchy. I'll try to post pics for ya later if you'd like. The quality is very nice too.

wahhhhhhhhhh! i just saw your post! i can't believe i missed this! ugh this is why i should read the forum everyday.
EDIT: i found a code for 15% off... do you think i should get for $215? sorry i am sure you all have had this conversation already but should i get black or grey? i have a black pair of banana republic boots from last year and a pair of grey suede tara subkoff booties that are slouchy. or is what i have too similar?
Dot, where did you find a code for 15% off? Also, if you are ordering from Standard Style, they are sold out of some of the sizes even though they let you add it to your cart. You might want to call and see when/if they are getting more.

I think you should get them. $215 is still a great deal and these boots are worth it. I had a hard time picking between black and gray, but I went w/the black because I knew I'd get more use out of them. What do you think you have a bigger need for? These can be worn tall or slouchy btw.

nikki - the code is "jessica2." thanks for the tip on the sizing. i am actually worried that these boots will not fit my bulky calves. i don't know i guess i could always return. i am at the point where i just have to confirm my order.

Dot, my calves are on the large side (I have a hard time with boots sometimes) and these fit fine. I sized up though, so I don't know if that made a difference. I usually wear an 8 in boots but that size was sold out so I ended up getting a 9 and they're really not that much too big (they'll be fine with an insole and thick socks). Also, if I remember correctly, you're pretty petite, right? I'm only 5'2 and these are really tall on me. If I unfold them they cover my knees. They're really versatile because they can be worn tall, cuffed, uncuffed, and slouchy. I heart them.
sarah - yes i am short and have a small foot.. plus with the big calves makes boots hard sometimes. thanks for your input; i appreciate it. i am really interested in wearing them slouchy and over-the-knee style like those chanel boots or those cute flat kenneth cole boots cc posted a while ago.
dot...I know you and I are in the same boat calves and height-wise.
I think that for the Fryes you posted, you could get the Bari boots from Nordies instead for $300. I have a pair in chocolate suede (they also have dark grey and camel), they fit great, and I love love love them. They're pretty much the same except for the rounded top on the shopbop pair.
fp - thanks so much for measuring!!!! that's really helpful.
lilykind - thanks for the info on the frye boot. i think i want to see it in real life. i am all about flat boots right now. i just bought a pair from s&j that i will have to post.
