Dolce Vita boot - thoughts? Also this low Frye boot
Permalink Closed

Just browsing shopbop.com and found these beauties... Opinions? They are $290 (not bad for boots). I am not familar with this brand. Has anyone heard of them? What do you girls think?

also comes in chocolate brown (shown in stone and black)

Also last thing I need since I bought a pair of slouchy vintage Fryes last year and a pair of campus in banana super cheap... but just like this low heel

These are $400

Obviously you missed the mini-craze last week when the Dolce Vita boots were 30% off with a code.

I love them in grey, and would have bought them with the code if they came in my size.

yeah I think about eight of us bought those last week... I think a few of the girls have received them already ans say they look beautiful IRL. I love those low-heel Fryes, but $400 is pretty painful.

Check out my Threadstyle post.  I'm wearing the black ones.  I love them - they are gorgeous IRL!

I have seen those Fryes in person this past weekend and they are sooooo soft. I was tempted to try on, but afraid I'd never take them off.

I got the Dolce Vita boots in grey and LOVE them!  They can be worn tall or slouchy.  I'll try to post pics for ya later if you'd like.  The quality is very nice too.

Dot, where did you find a code for 15% off?  Also, if you are ordering from Standard Style, they are sold out of some of the sizes even though they let you add it to your cart.  You might want to call and see when/if they are getting more.

I think you should get them.  $215 is still a great deal and these boots are worth it.  I had a hard time picking between black and gray, but I went w/the black because I knew I'd get more use out of them.  What do you think you have a bigger need for?  These can be worn tall or slouchy btw.

nikki - the code is "jessica2." thanks for the tip on the sizing. i am actually worried that these boots will not fit my bulky calves. i don't know i guess i could always return. i am at the point where i just have to confirm my order.

I hope it's not too late but I just noticed that Pink Mascara carries the boots, too, and you can get 25% off with the code "luckymag".

They're $253 so with the code they would be $190. HTH!

Here's a pic from their site:

Dot, my calves are on the large side (I have a hard time with boots sometimes) and these fit fine.  I sized up though, so I don't know if that made a difference.  I usually wear an 8 in boots but that size was sold out so I ended up getting a 9 and they're really not that much too big (they'll be fine with an insole and thick socks). Also, if I remember correctly, you're pretty petite, right?  I'm only 5'2 and these are really tall on me.  If I unfold them they cover my knees.  They're really versatile because they can be worn tall, cuffed, uncuffed, and slouchy.  I heart them.

hedvig - you are awesome! thank you so much!

sarah - yes i am short and have a small foot.. plus with the big calves makes boots hard sometimes. thanks for your input; i appreciate it. i am really interested in wearing them slouchy and over-the-knee style like those chanel boots or those cute flat kenneth cole boots cc posted a while ago.

i think i may order chocolate.

Would someone who has received them mind actually measuring the circumference at the top of the boot?

I've been lusting for them, but I haven't ordered since I'm convinced that they won't fit my calves.

TIA!

Mine measure between 14.5-15".  Also the lining is leather, so they may stretch if they're tight.  HTH!

dot...I know you and I are in the same boat calves and height-wise.

I think that for the Fryes you posted, you could get the Bari boots from Nordies instead for $300. I have a pair in chocolate suede (they also have dark grey and camel), they fit great, and I love love love them. They're pretty much the same except for the rounded top on the shopbop pair.
