My Loeffler Randalls came in the mail on Thursday. They are all kinds of perfect (bronze leather is so soft, fit is impeccable, craftsmanship absolutely worth every penny)...BUT do you guys think the toe openings look weird?
I guess it is the style of the shoe and all, but I don't want people looking at my feet all funny.
(on a somewhat related side note, NO MORE PEEP TOE SHOES FOR ME...especially not brown ones! must. stop. insanity.)
It breaks my heart to say it, but I do think they look weird. If you were wearing them with black tights, I think it would be striking, but it seems like a waste to only wear them in the winter...

I fourth. They are very pretty but the toe thing is something that would bother me.
On a side note are those peep toes little mousy faces or cat faces? Either way where are they from and from how long ago? I need them, wonder if I can find them on ebay?

I love the color. I wonder, if you took them to the tailor, would the tailor be able to reattach the leather piece to make the look more "natural" and less "trapped toes searching for liberation?"
I would try hard to make them work, because I really love them!
I *like* them too, but I have been questioning my taste as of late. Sometimes my decidedly 'esoteric' tastes borders on the 'downright weird/unflattering/psychotic'. They're definitely not shoes for everyone, but I like them that way. I feel better now.
Collette: the leopard face shoes are from Eugenia Kim's Spring/Summer 2005 collection. They do pop up occasionally on EBay. They run obscenely large...I wear a 38 in most European shoes and the pair I have is a 37. If you can find them, jump on them...they are incredibly well made shoes.
montmarte: compared to most of the girls, I actually have very few shoes (maybe 30?). you can come visit them whenever though.
I keep coming back to this post to look at them and I'm still undecided. I love, love the shape of them from the side. The heel and profile of them is really pretty...but I just don't know about the toes. I can appreciate them for their unusual-ness, but I just don't know if I like them.
More importantly, you said you *like* them, but it doesn't sound like you love them. Ask yourself this: if you returned them and got your money back, is there a pair of shoes that you'd buy that you know you love? I guess what I'm asking is that by buying these shoes are you preventing yourself from buying something that you love 100%?
