I prefer to actually layer rather than buy shirts that have the illusion of being a layered item.

I think the shirt could be cute if you wear another element over it - like a jacket or blazer and you want the illusion of layers without the bulk that can come with them. But, I probably wouldn't wear the shirt by itself.
