Boot stretching?

Does anyone know any at home tricks to stretch out the calf width of boots?

I have new pair I just recieved (and I love them!) and they are a bit snug around my calfs -

TIA!

I don't know any tricks per se, but I wonder if you could have just the tiniest bit of elastic inserted in the top of the boot?

A few years back I bought some leather stretch stuff at Nordstrom.

I used to ride horses and to help mold my tall boots to my leg I'd put the boots on, then go stand in a bucket of water up to my knees to get the boots totally soaked. Once they were good and wet I'd wear them around until they were dry, molding them to my leg in the process. It always worked for me, maybe it'll work for you :)

Don't laugh but I stuffed my boots tight with towels and they stretched. I left the towels in for a few days. Make sure you stuff them as tight as possible so the boots will stretch
Hth!

Doesn't that ruin the leather?

Nope, I did it to a $700 pair of custom tall boots and they're still fine to this day!

Are they loose enough that you can pull them on at least?

If so, I'd do something like what LindsayP suggested, but a little less extreme.  Soak a pair of knee high sporty socks in water (like old school tube socks).  Put on the wet socks with the boots and wear them around the house for an afternoon.  Not totally comfy, but it should do the trick.

I've never done this w/ boots, but I do stretch leather shoes this way.

I read good things about this stuff

It's called Premier Shoe Stretch. There are other solutions, sprays that you put on the leather to make the pores open up and make the leather more maluable. I think you spray the solution on the leather and wear it until it's dry.

I need to get this myself for some stiff boots.
