The Gap website says "hand wash."  It's 50% cotton, 20% alpaca, 20% wool and 10% nylon.  I've seen it IRL, but I can never tell if a "hand wash" item can go in the washer.

I usually put my hand-wash items in the washer on the gentle cycle, while placing them in a mesh lingerie bag first.

I usually just dry clean hand wash items..but that's probably just me.

Nope, not just you - I dry clean any hand wash items usually too.

Without seeing the fabric in person I'm not to sure what I would do.  Either I'd turn it inside out and machine wash or use Dryell.

I let "hand wash" items toss around in the gentle cycle, however I take them out before they get to the spin cycle. That seems to be where the clothes get ruined in my machine.
