So mad at myself!
Permalink Closed

I already posted this in the Ebay section but I'm so annoyed that I'm putting it here where there's more traffic.

So, I have a bunch of stuff to sell on Ebay and have been posting it all this afternoon. The first thing I put up was a brand new, black wool suit from Nanette Lepore that I got two years ago and just never wore. (I got it for job interviewing and was then recruited by another department in the company I worked for, and never had to formally interview. Meanwhile, the suit just sat in the closet being beautiful.) I still love it but have no foreseeable need for it, so I decided to just sell it. So I gave it a Buy It Now price of $150, which I realize was so stupid now because someone bought it literally within 5 minutes of it being listed!! I am so mad at myself for not making that at least $100 more. Wah. There are worse problems to have, but I am just very annoyed with myself right now.

I don't think that's so weird -- I only started "ebaying" a few months ago.

I know I'm being silly about this but it does irk me. I don't know of any way I can get out of it. So, it's hers! Like my mom always says, look at this as a learning experience!

you could email the person back and tell her that you found a hole or a stain in the item and really apologize for the inconvenience...

it's a little white lie but then you could conceivably wait a week or two and relist at a higher price.

Call me PollyAnna, but you have $150! Go buy yourself a fabulous pair of shoes & forget about it. She has a pretty suit, you have money, it's not hassle since she's excited & will pay you quickly (or you can relist it) - all is good. Be happy

Backing out of the auction would be wrong, you don't want to get a neg either.  What's done is done!  Go buy something nice for yourself with the money.

I'm not going to back out -- I was aggravated yesterday, but I've calmed down and see it's not a big deal. The bidder won it, fair and square.
