WW Points Question
Permalink Closed

Umm, OK, so I have a question and confession.

I started WW a few months ago and have been on and off since then. This Monday, the heaviest day of my life, litterally, I went back on. Of course my mom was in town and I had dinner plans w/my girlfriends so two nights in a row were dinner disasters!

I've been exercising a lot this week but it seems like my activity points haven't been used like they should be according to the online flex program.

Here's this weeks info, please let me know if you can explain what the problem is (besides my out of control dinners this week, two of which were more points than i shld've had all DAY).

I get 20 pts/day and the 35 flex pts/wk

Mon: 22.5 pts, 7 activity points

Tues: 26 pts, 2 activity points

Wed: 41.5 pts, 4 activity points

this is SCARY bc EVERY DAY i've used more pts than i shld! ick!

Thurs: 40.5 pts, no activity (sitting at my desk then bus to dinner)

Fri: no big eating plans today, thank god and going to the gym for at least 5 activity pts

BUT, Online I think my activity points (18 total INCL today that I haven't done yet) shld compensate for the 7 flex points I went over my 35limit. No?

Am I still too new to understand the way it works?

Seeing this all typed out is scarier than entering it into the system. I really really need to get on track!

Please help. My pants hurt.

Jess - when I get confused to be honest, I add up total of what I can have for the week - (20x7) + 35. The add up your total for the week that you used and subtract your activity. Whatever is left is what you can have for the rest of the week - you can eat that many points or eat more & do activity to reduce to that number. There was a plan like this that WW didn't actually endorse but it worked for a lot of people so it's out there on the internet (wendy plan). Does that makes sense at all?

The math for your week:
So at your weight you can have 175 points total for the 7 days.
Mon - thurs you have used 130.5 pts & have earned 13 activity points. (130.5-13=117.5)
So you have 57.5 (175-117.5) pts left for Frid-Sat-Sun

You can eat more points if you do more exercise. So you are really pretty close to being on the 20 pts a day track.

Clear as mud?

Just for the record, I don't do this all of the time but when I have some big days & get confused it helps me to look at it this way.

ETA: all that being said, again, WW doesn't support this theory - which is basically gorging for a few days & starving on others - but it did work for a lot of people. And on the old plan I was on you could "bank" points to be used within that week so to me it's that same thing.

THANK YOU!

I had to do the math on some ppr, but then it really does make sense.

The "Wendy" Plan sounds exactly like WW, unless it is just the way I view WW. I knew I had 2 huge dinners this week so I used all my flex points there(and fine, a few extra) but I knew I cld bc i'd worked out and therefore had "bonus" activity points.

Of course I realize the point is to work out bc it's healthy and NOT so that you can eat more. BUT, this week that was my plan.

So it works out that I have 19pts for each day of the weekend.

Better finish this 100 cal pack of peanut butter cookies and go get a salad for lunch!

I don't think i could official do the Wendy plan because if I starve on certain days I'll be to cranky to leave my house and then I'll be inside and eat all day...

Yeah, the way the old plan worked with banking it was very close to this but they still dispelled the theory that they supported x# of points for the week. I don't know how that's much different than flex points are banking though!

I know what you mean about the exercise part but really I think it's a good lesson in that - Uh, I want to eat that so I'd better go walk it off. I don't think there's a thing wrong with that!

Hey - join us over in the Beauty & Health area - several of us are on WW & we are trying to keep each other accountable......

ok, I think you're confused obecause of what the online tracker is telling you?
basically there's a ww rule that says that you can only use APs the day that you earn them. SO for example you used 2.5 of the 7 that you earned on Monday. The rest of those are now gone- they won't carry over to the next day.

You tracket should say that you used around 41 flex points (or went 7 over)
