Blackheads!
Permalink Closed

They are so gross and I swear they are multiplying on my nose as I write this.  I've tried the Biore strips, but that's just not good enough and I use apricot scrub 3x a week on my entire face.  I know these nasty things are imbedded, so exfoliating when I already have them doesn't do anything.  So I need a way to remove them.  Do those blackhead removers really work?

Much thanks in advance!

tea tree oil really works for me.  just use it like a toner and avoid getting close to your eyes - it'll sting!

also, for what it's worth, i used to use the apricot scrub on my face and when i went to get a facial a few years back the girl yelled at me and said it's horrible to use - it does a lot of damage, i guess, because it's so rough.  i actually have some small pock-mark type things near my nose from it.

If you have regular facials it will help.  I know Joceybaby does this to, but when we start noticing more blackheads, we go to get a facial.

Its the best way that I have been able to keep my skin looking fresh.  Honestly, I think its worth the $75, rather than buy a whole bunch of products that may not work.

Thanks, girls.  I might try getting a facial.  I don't have a blemish problem, but have always had the blackhead problem.  Haven't had a facial in a while though, so sounds like it might be worth it.

asf - i had no idea about apricot scrub.  i've been using it since high school and that was 12 yrs. ago.  yikes! thaks for the info.

Those Biore strips are bad news...don't do much good and really strip your skin something awful, IMO. I use the warming blackhead cleanser from Biore and have had pretty good results from that. I second the tea tree oil as well- but be forewarned, a little goes a long long way.

If you are talking about the blackhead remover tool, they only kinda work. Basically, if you don't know what you are doing you can push the crap deeper into the pore. And, they really work better for me with just plain clogged pores.

thanks for that! I'm not a religious apricot scrub-er, but I do have some stocked away that I use once in a while... but I'm throwing it out now!
