Is the print on the skirt black or navy?

I think you need another color in that mix to avoid the possible Christmas Tree-ness - like a wide navy belt at your natural waist?

definitely christmas tree. i would try that sweater in a buttery yellow color.

I think it would work as long it the sweater is fitten and if you do the navy belt.

I think you could pull it off -- adding a navy or brown belt. Also like the butter yellow sweater idea.
