Distance sites -
Permalink Closed

There HAS to be a site out there where I can type in Dallas & another city & it will tell me how many miles it is to that city - anyone know? I am sick of googling "how far dallas to..." & I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

if it matters I am looking for cities that we can drive to in a reasonable amount of time for weekend getaways. So a site that would list them out & give me ideas I hadn't thought of would be awesome. If any of the travel sites have this feature I must be a dumb ass & can't find it....

Well, I use Mapquest for that purpose...but of course, with that, you have a destination in mind.

Not a website, but a map would work.

I'd use Mapquest too.  Get a map of Dallas, and zoom out so you can see surrounding cities/states.  Then if you see one you're interested in you can tell it to give you driving directions from Dallas to XYZ city for exact distances.

Portland does a thing on the news every summer called 60 vacations within 60 miles of the city, and 'Trips on a Tank', so maybe checking a couple local news stations' websites would turn something up.  Or Googling 'Dallas driving vacations'?

Ha! No surprise I googled "dallas driving vacations" and got an article about oil /gas prices.

I'll see what I can find from Mapquest- I do feel like a dweeb - why didn't I think of that.

I have a perfect site in my mind & I guess it doesn't exist - one where you can map out a trip & then it shows you interesting stops along the way. I guess every person's definition of "interesting" is different so..... (one of the travel sites does do this but it missed so many things in hindsight it wasn't worth doing).
