Did anyone watch last night??

For the first time since the show started, I actually was semi-impressed w/Zayra last night.  I didn't think her original song fit in AT ALL w/Supernova, but for the first time, I saw that she really can sing - but she sounds a lot better when she sings in spanish vs. English, which obviously won't work for the band.


Patrice sucked again last night.  It was just so boring and for the love of god, stop smiling all the time when you sing!  I've decided she looks like a cross between Sheryl Crow & Christy Turlington.


I liked Magni last night - he was good, but that's really all I have to say.


Really liked Lukas last night.  He's such a weirdo that I love him.  I can totally see him fitting into the band.  His facial expressions while he sings totally freak me out!


For the first time, Storm actually really BLEW.  Her version of I Will Survive was awful, and I'm glad that the whole band told her they hated it.  By the way, it really rubbed me the wrong way at the end when she said "That's ok, I like spanking".  Stop w/the sexual inuendo's already!


Ryan was awesome last night.  Very strong vocals.  He's got the voice, but I think he acts a little too intense up there.  They told him to look like he's enjoying himself and he always looks like he's in physical pain up there to me.


I really liked Toby last night - thought his voals were great and of course I still think he's just adorable.


Dilana was really good, however, she still doesn't do much for me.  Her voice is just too gravely for my taste.

I agree with Patrice and her damn smiling.  She has a great voice, but is just too cheerleader for Rock n Roll.


Lukas and Dilana both get on my nerves.  They are both good, but especially Lukas needs to loose that growly sound once in a while..he totally adds it himself.


Toby is adorable and can really sing, but he just seems to pop for me or maybe too much like Creed or Staind and I don't think those are Rock at all.


I think Magni fits the profile the most.


And call me whatever you want to call me...I just really don't like girl singers in rock bands!  I know I know I should be supportive of them but I think it sounds weird and always a little to popish.

Storm sang the Cake version of I Will Survive - I'm surprised that no one was familiar with it. She did a good job singing the Cake version for whatever it's worth.

I know! I can't believe she didn't explain herself! I guess after the "sauteed in wrong sauce" comment she didn't see the point in arguing it maybe... I'm surprised those guys don't know cake too.

Yeah, it's really strange that the guys didn't recognize it as Cake's version, and Storm played it off as her own.  Weird!


BTW - did anyone else catch Dave hitting on the blonde violinist?  LOL.

i agree with just about everything that's already been said.  it was funny, at the beginning of the show, before they even showed song selection i said to the bf "i bet zayra would be great if she could sing in spanish" - and she did!  it's totally the accent that kills her.  i know she'd never work for supernova, but i like the girl.  she's spunky.


i hate storm, i hate patrice.  i realized storm was singing the cake version, but i still thought it sucked.  and the spanking comment - puh-lease!  she mekes herself seem cheaper every week..  and patrice..just...ugh.  i can't stand her and can't wait until i don't have to see that stupid smile anymore. 


toby was just okay.  he sings nicely, he looks wonderful, but he's kind of boring.  though i did enjoy his nudity and give props to dilana for getting him to strip!


magni has become my favorite, for sure.  that boy can sing, and for the most part he does it without looking ridiculous or being annoying.  which is a major accomplishment for these people.


lucas' voice and range are awesome, though i agree that he could stand to lose a little more of the gravelly-voiced thing.  i just can't stand to look at him, though.  since day one he's creeped me out and i'm just not getting over it. 


ryan is good, but he does look uncomfortable up there.  he's got some strange vibe about him, too.  maybe it's the intensity you're talking about shopchicago - but it puts me off. 


and i think dilana did well, as usual, but i just wish she could sing without sounding like she's got a hairball in her throat.

I only caught Patrice's and I hated it. And I like Cake's version.  However, I am glad I did, because "sauteed in wrong sauce" is my new favorite catchphrase.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually would have rather Patrice went home last night thatn Zayra.  I mean, Zayra sucks, but at least she doesn't grin like a geek when she sings (why won't Patrice stop that!) and she doesn't really do anything that annoys me other than her singing.  I just can't stand Patrice.  Oh and I wanted Storm to be in the bottom 3.  She's really grating on my nerves.  Is it just me or should she be auditioning to be an actress rather than a rockstar?  I love her concern for the others in the bottom 3.  Whatever.  Oh and I love how when her name got called for the bottom 3 she stands up and cheers.  Stop trying so hard!


Oh and what did everyone else think of Dilana performing w/Supernova?  I can see her fronting the band, however, I thought the whole thing was pretty cheesy.  And was it just me, or did the whole thing look like it was prerecorded and shot like a music video?

I'm completely with you on all that, well, except that I still like Storm even though she is slutty & cheesey. The performance was completely shot like a video & we figure they will do them all that way to use clips in the actual video for the songs once they pick someone.

I kinda got teary eyed when Zayra got cut. I thought for sure Patrice was toast - even her follow up sucked. At least Zayra is entertaining - we were surprised they didn't keep her another week.

I must say, I like Ryan, but I'm really sick of the dark mysterious act. Do something different already! We get it. you are dark. you are mysterious. Be original.

Magni should never have been in the bottom 3. And I'm not even really a fan.
