I realize this post may seem very petty to some, but as everyone on here is a fashion lover, I think you can empathize.
I have/had this vintage Chanel belt. It's black leather and the buckle was gold interlocking Cs. It is a PERFECT except for its a little small to wear on hips BUT it would look so chic worn on my natural waist. Well, I have searched and searched and it is no where to be found. I moved in June and threw away a lot of clothes and accessories that wouldn't sell on ebay. Since I didn't really wear the belt, I think there's a chance it was mixed in and may have been thrown away.
I know it's silly but I'm so upset. I'm mad because I was probably careless and just tossed. I'm mad because it's not exactly replaceable. And not to be too much of a label whore, but it's Chanel for goodness sake. I had the cutest fall outfit in mind and now what?
I'm still searching but my hope of finding it is fading. I don't know if I can find something similar but I guess I can try... I'm sure it'll cost a ton to replace too.
ummmmmmmm. I gotta level w/ ya.Your not silly. I still get upset about things I've lossed (or grew legs) from years ago! Maybe it'll turn up when you're not looking for it.
I'd be upset too. Hopefully you find it. I lost a box of clothes and found them a year later after I had replaced quite a few items. I just put it in another box and completely forgot about it. Maybe your belt will turn up where you least expect it!
i can definitely empathize. i'm sorry and i really hope you find it.
this is going to sound really dorky, but if you're religious, st. anthony is the patron saint of lost things. when i was in catholic grammar school (heck even catholic high school) i really believed that praying to him would work and it did a couple of times.

My mom is Catholic and always told us to do this. I always say a prayer to St. Anthony when I can't find something and it always seems to work!
I hope you find it!

I don't think you're petty at all. It's Chanel for god's sake. And vintage, too! If it makes you feel better, I've turned my room upside down looking for my one and only black bra. If it's gone, I'm going to cry. It doesn't even fit that well. If you're petty, I'm a plain, old loser.
Thanks everybody. Seriously, I feel better knowing I'm not being that ridiculous. I'm still searching and asking St. Anthony so if it turns up I'll let everyone know.
:( We're sad for you and you are not being petty in the least -- it is vintage Chanel, as everyone said! I and I'm sure others will also be praying to St. Anthony for you. I feel the same way about my lost vintage Oleg Cassini black leather clutch. I had it for 4 yrs. and haven't seen it since I moved, back in December. Okay, it's not Chanel, but I loved that bag.
