Yep, work has been crazy this summer for me as well. Next week my bf and I are going on a beach vacation -- it's also my family's annual get-together. I can't wait!
Other than that, I haven't done anything else exciting this summer. It's hard to get away sometimes.
My University shuts down completely for two weeks in December/January, so I typically just add my vacation on to that time and get a fatty 5 week vacation. So, we don't usually take trips in the summer - we take them in December/January.
I am starting to get major burn out. I may take a day off next week just for fun.
No, I'm seriously not. DH went to Ireland & England without me & I'm still a little jealous over it. Even though his dad paid for the whole thing it still put us out about $1,500 (stuff he needed for the trip + spending $$ + he paid for a few meals). And the only trips I get to go on are to see my family which is not a vacation at all. The heat is so severe it's seriously just miserable to even walk outside, much less do anything fun.
Upside is that I'm planning a weekend in Vegas with girlfriends & DH & I are going to NY in November. But as far as I'm concerned, this summer sucks.

Nope. I'm stuck in the most boring place on earth, I don't know that many people here and the shopping is terrible. And I don't have a vacation in site b/c I have so much work to do that if I took a vacation, I would lose my mind when I came back to the mountains of work.
Nope. I'm in school, as is hubby. My family has been in and out of the hospital and we are renovating the bathroom, and are more than $1000 over budget. I've had more fun in a summer...
Starting a blog, named after my user name here: Dizzy Does It...
Making a bunch of new friends who are as much fun as the ones I left behind in Kentucky, and much more compatible with me than most of the other people in law school.
Taking classes at the business school, and discovering I love the professors, it's mututal, and finance is seriously how my brain works.
Hiring a cop/stripper to bust a "noise violation" at a friend who was angry with his roommate and called ina noise violation on HIS OWN HOUSE the weekend prior.
Cooking a lot.
Enjoying being me, the me that freaks out everyone at this school so darn much, and deciding it really doesnt' matter (obviously this is easier when I don't have to see them all every day).
Getting possibly the best "you're fired" story ever. The woman who fired me didn't know who I WAS. And fired me for something I didn't actually DO.
Getting a writing job at another online magazine too.
