I think it's cute.  I'd wear it with a beater and shorts/bermudas.

Personally, I'm not a fan of vests on women. I've only seen it in person, though, on one girl who wore a black vest with a yellow t shirt. Maybe it could've been done better, I think I might like a vest with a structured button up shirt, wide leg trousers, and pointy heels. But I've never seen it done like that, so I don't know.

I love vests and they seem to have become more popular in the last year or two.   I like them layered over a dress shirt with a slim skirt for business attire.  For casual wear I slip them on over a camisole and some skinny jeans.

I was thinking they would be in for the fall, and was planning on wearing them, I was just unsure how to wear them, and was actually going to post a question, so if anyone could give some outfit ideas that would be great!  I think the outfit ttara123 suggested sounded cute

Jennifer Anniston wore an outfit like this on an episode of friend and it was so cute!  I can't remember if it was with pants or a skirt but I remember loving it!

I have a couple that I've worn over beaters this summer, and that I plan on wearing over sheer tie-neck blouses in the fall .

That's exactly how I wear the one I have. It's black velvet (satin on the back) and I wear it as a chic business-y look. I have gotten lots of compiments on it when I wear it that way. I don't think vests are good as a casual look. JMO

That's what I was thinking, too.  I like that vests are versatile; Summer and Winter.  Thanks!
