I was looking for some textured or opaque tights to wear this fall/winter w/ skirts and boots and all I could find were leggings and "footless tights." Does anyone know where I can get actual tights? I'm looking for something textured, like this pair from Free People for $28 (the only pair I found!), but for less $$.
I haven't actually went and looked yet, but I would try: Target, Kohl's, Nordies ( a lot of the textured tights I've seen in the Mags are by Hue and Nordies carries those), Gap, and BR.
you may also want to search using key word hosiery, as tights, socks, panyhose, etc. are all classified as hosiery. You can look in the hosiery section of Nordstom for tights as well.

Hue has the best variety, but as far as thickeness goes I really only like their sweater tights.
Nordstroms makes the best plain opaque tights as far as department store brands go.
Also, if you are in a colder climate, you should look at skaters tights. Danskin makes really comfy (no I'm totally serious) and warm ones. Just don't get anything in 'suntan' or 'light suntan'.
If you're willing to part with your firstborn (or your life savings) Wolford makes the best tights ever.
I get most of my tights at places like TJ Maxx and Filene's Basement because I tend to go through them quickly. I'm rarely in Target but I've been impressed with their selection. I got a few pairs of textured tights there last year.
