I'm so bummed, girls... my 21st birthday is next Saturday and I still don't have a dress. I've been looking for something that can be casual for my backyard party in the afternoon and can be dressed up just a little for whatever my bf and his brother have planned for me (I don't know what it is, but it's a big deal -- nothing too fancy). I bought a lilac Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent slipdress that I was going to wear with flip flops during the day and my JS black Barbs and a black belt that night. The dress didn't work out... it looks too much like a nightgown. I went to Nodies yesterday but nothing tickled my fancy there or anywhere else. I can't find anything online, either. This dress from Anthro would be perfect, but it's more than I want to spend.


backyard luau dress


I'd be willing to spend up to $200 for a really gorgeous dress. I'm going to NYC next Friday so I could always wait until I get there to find something... I just don't want to find nothing there and be stuck wearing something out of my closet. Can you girls help me, please? I'd also like to find something that would go well with any of my currently favorite shoes so I can get more wear before I say goodbye for the winter (or forever to the Barbs maybe):


Leather Star Flip FlopUO sandals for day  


KORS Michael Kors West Kors wedges (I think they could go either day or night)


Jessica Simpson BarbBarbs (I wouldn't want to wear them during the day)


I know I'm being too picky and overthining it way too much, so please help me.

I don't want to make you feel too bad but if you'd told me on Friday I could've gotten it for you for $70. Her sale was this past weekend!


PS: that's a great print IRL, and as long as you're tall enough it will look great on you. I was too petite for it.
