JCrew always has nice, classic coats. I need a coat this year, too and that's the first place I plan to look.

JCrew coats last forever too.  I have one that I got in high school that's now 7 years old.  It's just now starting to show some age, so I'll be replacing it this year with another from JCrew.  Don't you live in TX, kay kay?  If you can hold out that long, JCrew coats are usually on sale in late December/early January.

BR always has cute coats.

I need a new coat this year too..I've had my old one for 3 years and it's too big now.

I want to find a belted coat.

I'm sure Banana will have nice coats a bit later into fall. I got a black knee-length belted wool trench from there last fall and it's really elegant and great quality. The material is incredibly soft. And they always go on sale, too.

Have you tried Burlington as well? They have some pretty nice coats too.
