What are your three must have fall purchases?

I know that there's been a lot of talk on the board about what everybody likes and doesn't like for the fall -- as well as what people are already buying! I thought it would be interesting to hear what your "three must haves" are. I know that I'm scoping things out to see what I like best in my must have categories and where the best prices are!

Here are mine:

1. New Coat -- I'm thinking of something mod-inspired

2. Black Pants -- a perfect pair that are classy but a bit different and new

3. Slouchy, Long V Neck Sweater / Sweater Dress

Other things I'm contemplating right now: leggings (the horror!), ankle boots, a white blouse, and those great Gap skinny jeans.

Whoa, two of mine are teh same as yours!

- Belted black coat that is incredibly chic and will last for years.
- Tweed pants (preferrably maroon/burgandy/purple)
- Oversized sweater dress

A new coat I have been needing one fo so long. Trying to find a dark brown knee lenghth one.


Dark brown boots but either flat or  with a small heel since they will be for work

1. boots. I want another brown pair. (and many other pairs, but that's beside the point. Brown is the main boot color on the list this year).

2. cardigans. I got rid of a bunch of old ones and really only have one left.

3. more cashmere. I get cold easily and I love, love, love soft clothing items, so in my world there can never be enough cashmere. :)

1) black riding boots if i can find an amazing pair, will just wait til that moment

I only get to choose 3?

*sweater dress (there seems to be a bit of consensus on this). i'm head over heels in love with the karoo by mark eisen cashmere one, but the price point is way steep now. i'm not sure if i'm going to shut my eyes & buy it, or try and hold out for a sale.


*jumper/romper -- been wanting one since this summer, and saw an adorable one in teen vogue


*mike & chris leather hoodie. just waiting for barney's to stock them so i can see what size i need and/or if it will even fit. my understanding is that they run small.


eta: b/c i realized i wanted a romper more than ballet flats, but i still want those too

Oh gosh I wish that I only had three!  I need some serious updates to my wardrobe this fall but I'll only bore you with the top 10:

1. Cognac or dark brown leather boots to wear over skinnies and w/dresses (I have black boots already)
2. 7FAM Roxy (skinny) jeans in faded black or grey
3. Classic designer bag - haven't picked one yet but I'm thinking chain handle and either quilted leather (mj or cc) or fendi buckle b bag.

4. Flats-  black ballet, leopard, or Roger Vivier buckled ones
5. wide black leather belt
6. Robert Rodriguez wool coat with patent leather belt
7. Brown leather jacket
8. Long slouchy cardigans
9. Velvet (brand) tunic with pockets & long sleeve tunic
10. Patent leather pumps
