All right people, hair help is needed!

So, I have been growing out my hair for the last 6 months. My hair is in some seriously desperate need of help (see photo). My big day is on Saturday! yay! I'm going into the City to a fancy schmancy salon to get my hair done. I don't know what to tell them. I already know what color I'm getting, but I am lost for styles/ideas/etc. My only criterion is that I keep the length.

Btw...sorry for the odd photo, I was trying to show some of the side of my hair.

Thoughts!?

i actually don't think it looks bad! it looks slightly tossled and casual cool.

how wavy is your hair? is that blown dry? i would probably just ask for a few more layers cut in. the length seems nice. from your other pics i think you have side swept bangs? i would get those trimmed as well, because i think they really work for you.

My hair is actually curly..but I blow dry it like 60% of the time.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I like the idea of more layers. I think that will also help give my hair some volume when I do wear it curly because it tends to lay flat.

i just wanted to pop in to tell you, that you remind me of bette midler, in a good way.  your so pretty.  and also, i wanted to say that when you do your hair up with the scarf/headband thingy, it looks great.  like in one of the pics you have in TS right now.
