I just read in Shop etc. that they got Abaete to design the shoes for payless this fall - so yeah, they're much more stylish than normal. They featured a boot and a purple and black patent heel in the magazine and both looked cute.

Slim fit black or red capris with a cute top. A pencil skirt would also look really cute with those.

Tried these on in the store today (they only had the cream ones). They are very cute. The strap is a bit loose on my narrow feet, but I am getting them in black online. Thumbs up for the price.
