Ok, is this weird?

So I got two cute tankini tops on super sale and need a brown bikini bottom for them.  Well, while I was trying them on in the fitting room I realized that they looked really cute with the panties I was wearing.  And all the bikini bottoms I tried on didn't look right or didn't have enough coverage.  So, I was thinking I would just wear these panties.  They are Body by Victoria and are a microfiber, swimsuit-ish kind of material and don't look like panties (if that makes sense).  And also at the pool I don't swim (don't know how and am afraid of water), so I get in the pool to cool off for like a minute and then it's back to the lounge chair to get some rays.  So with all that info...is it weird?

And they are dark chocolate.  Please tell me I'm not weird

Well I am familiar with the material and the panties ( I own some) and I think they might be thin for wearing in public. Maybe if you bought a second pair and layered them for more coverage?

They aren't see thru at all, even when wet (I tested and looked very thouroughly!).  I even compared them to the actual bikini bottoms and honestly there wasn't much difference.

The only thing I would be concerned about it the coverage factor in the front if you know what I mean. Since actual bathing suits have the extra piece, maybe you could get crafty?

Well What I ment was the "ront coverage" as another poster mentioned. However if you feel they totally cover and you are comfortable, then wear them! Half of style is confidence and if you know they look great, then I am sure you will look great sporting them!!

I would definitely test them in natural sunlight first, but if they were ok I'd go for it!!

I think that if they pass the see through and coverage test, go ahead and wear them.  Who else would know that they are panties and not bikini bottoms anyway

I have about 20 pairs of that exact underwear and personally I wouldn't wear them as a suim bottom. I recommend these instead -- I have these JCrew bikini bottoms and the coverage & fit is great -- very flattering, and very similar to that underwear. Oh and they are definitely a darker brown IRL, the pic is not very good!

If they pass the see-through test and you feel confident wearing them - then go for it.  I would!

Uh, I've worn a black bra as a swimsuit top before and gotten compliments on my "bikini", so go for it.

I've worn undies as a swimsuit bottom before, so if they aren't see through and you're cool with it, I say go for it. Are you going to wear a sarong or anything over them?

I have a smocked dress that is the VS knock off of the Cool Change dress that I'll be wearing to the pool, but I'll take it off once I get there.

I modeled the swimsuit tops and panties for my hubby last night and he thought they were fine for me to be wearing to the pool and I know he wouldn't let me wonder around outside in something inappropriate.  So I think I'll be braving it
