i have some spoilers from the season premier and the air date.  wootwoot!!!!!

Episode 7.01: The Long Morrow
Airdate: September 19, 2006 (Season Premiere)

Paris starts a small business to help student prep for the SATs. She meets a student named Kaitlin and her mother. After being brutally honest about what she thinks of Kaitlin, she agrees to help her study for the SATs. She then has the mother and the daughter take an aptitude test to know what potential Kaitlin has and what comes from genetics. At the diner, Luke is particularly irritated especially when a customer tries to leave without paying his bill. When Taylor's Thunderbird is stranded in front of the diner, Taylor wants it to stay there until the insurance company takes a look at it. Luke must decide if he wants it towed or not. Being depressed and unsure, Luke can't make a decision.

The episode is going to be a tough one for Luke and Lorelai fans to watch. Really tough. [However,] the episode left no doubt in my mind that Lorelai and Luke are meant for each other. And Logan and Rory fans will be swooning as a result. Sure, the episode finds them on opposite continents, but Rosenthal has found a way to bring them closer together than I think they've ever been. All I'll say is his method is sweet, utterly romantic, and it ties in with the episode title, "The Long Morrow." And the end result should put Matt Czuchry fans' mind at ease. (At least for the short term.) Rory and Lorelai spend some quality time together at a *a********* c****. There's a very silly subplot involving Michel, Sookie and *r* ********g. Lorelai makes a passing reference to the title of one of the best Gilmore Girls episodes ever. I was left with the impression that there will be a significant time lapse between Episodes 1 and 2. Emily, Richard, Lane, April and Anna are MIA, but the rest of the supporting cast is pretty much accounted for. source: The Ausiello Report

General Season 7 Information ...

My Stars Hollow mole tells me the first six episodes are going to be very, very, very dramatic for Luke and Lorelai. Source: Ask Ausiello @TVGuide.com

With the absence of AS-P/DP team the new network had to get new writers that will hopefully be able to give us good Gilmore. So far there's no word on who they are, but AS-P hinted at the end of last season that it will be writers that have been working with them for years, and will hopefully carry Gilmore Girls on in the way it has been and is meant to be. Rina Mimoun has been brought on as a consultant. Mimoun was a writer for Everwood (which ended this year, not making the CW cut) and has a lot of experience in character expansion. Source: TVDramas.com Next year, the CW will team Veronica Mars with Gilmore Girls up with each other. Veronica will be solving crimes after the Girls search for love. Dream come true, my two favorite Logans together in one night on one network. Hopefully this will bring Gilmore's strong following to Veronica. So far Miss Mars is still underappreciated, even though her fan base is growing. Source: Kristen @ E! Online

Series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino has opted not to renew her contract and will be leaving at the end of the season — and she's taking husband Dan with her. As I reported on Friday, the primary sticking point was apparently the length of Gilmore Girls' renewal. AS-P wanted a two-year pickup, a demand that Warner Bros. refused to meet since Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel are only on board for one more year. Instead, the studio was ready to pay them just shy of $5 million for a one-year deal, an offer that was apparently good enough to refuse. According to a statement released by Warner Bros., "While we are disappointed that Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino have decided not to stay with the show next season, we are very confident that Dave Rosenthal, an experienced writer/producer with the show, will make the transition seamless moving into the seventh year of Gilmore Girls. We want to thank Amy for creating and nurturing this wonderful series for the past six years and giving us one of the most memorable mother/daughter relationships in television history." Gilmore Girls will be back next season with at least 22 episodes. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TVGuide Online

Amy Sherman-Palladino reveals: We've got [Christopher] for a few episodes [next season]. I forgot how many it is, but we've locked him down for a few episodes. The show will absolutely be back [next season]. Source: The Ausiello Report

I have it on good authority that Lorelai-Luke are about to take a turn for the worse. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TVGuide Online

I've just been informed by my crusty Gilmore mole that Matt Czuchry has sealed a deal to return for the show's seventh — and likely final — season. Per my spy, Czuchry is committed to appearing in at least 13 of 22 episodes, the same arrangement he had this season. Although this is no guarantee that Rory and Logan will ride off into the Stars Hollow sunset together, it certainly bodes well for the young lovers. Source: The Ausiello Report

Here are some other subjects AS-P tackled during our brief chat last week. L&L wedding this season? "I don't know. It's very possible." Trouble ahead for L&L? "We like up and down courses. We don't like one straight line. So, there's going to be some troubles ahead, but we all know that Luke and Lorelai belong together. Whatever troubles that they hit, there's a deep belief that, at some point, these two people really should just suck it up and get it over with." Rumors that Kirk won't be back next season? "Bulls--t." Marty? "We're looking for the right spot to bring him back because we love him. We don't have it yet, but we are looking for it." Negotiations for Season 7? "We're nowhere. We're not in negotiations, we don't have a contract." Source: Ask Ausiello @ TVGuide Online

Amy Sherman-Palladino has already written the final scene of the show (which will be between Rory and Lorelai) even though it's not known when the series will end. She hopes to end the show with Rory's Yale graduation. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TVGuide Online

I've been really disappointed by most of the episodes for the past few seasons but of course I'm still going to keep watching. I'm interested to see what the new writers do.

thanks for posting that

So what's the deal with them changing from WB to CW? I noticed they were changing but haven't seen what CW stands for or anything on the change.

CW is the new network formed in the merger of The WB and UPN. In some places the new network will broadcast on the local WB affiliate, in some it will be whatever channel UPN used to be on, and in other places it will be on a new channel altogether.

The shows announced for the fall lineup are:
Gilmore Girls
One Tree Hill
Smallville
Supernatural
7th Heaven - which supposedly ended last season but is now being revived
America's Next Top Model
Veronica Mars
Everybody Hates Chris
Girlfriends
All of Us
and maybe one or two new shows

yah they decided to drag 7th heaven on for one more season because it is so damn popular.  they are beating that one to death if ask me though.  and also because so many of the fans were pissed with how the show ended in the first series finale, so they are taking a do-over.

this is the last season of girlfriends too.  they are done.
