I also like to go to stores that only have NY outposts in the US. One off the top of my head is APC.

How could I forget Bendels? I hardly even knew it existed the first time I went to NYC and I spent almost half a day there. Duh!

Century 21! It's a zoo but they have such good deals... if you don't find clothes, you'll find underwear, or shoes, or something good... if you've never been, it's all the way downtown, actually right next to the WTC site.

I've definitely been there. It's on my list of "if we have time" because it takes a bit of time to sift through everything. There are some great finds there (sometimes). We might hit it just to check out the shoes and see if there are any amazing deals.

Nolita - Min-k; The Market NYC (on Sunday); Sugar; Lyell

I just got a pair of C Label pumps from Century 21... when I was there on Friday they had tons, almost all of last fall's styles, all for $50. I also got a marc jacobs jacket for $35. Of course it's always hit or miss, but they had some good stuff as of last weekend.

I don't know how recently you've been to the city, but there's no tax on clothes and shoes under $110 now! Score! :)

iirc you like foley & corinna stuff. they are having a sample sale starting 8/14 and everything is 55% off. i will double check the end date, but i think it's 8/19.
