Shoe/CS issue....
Permalink Closed

Not specifically a shopping thing, so that's why I'm posting here....

Anyways, you remember I bought the Steve Madden Chloe-esque wedges. Well I got them in June and still haven't worn them, except for around my house and 2 trips outside to the dumpster. Tonight I was trying them on again and as I was pulling the strap tight through the buckle, the buckle snapped in half!

Now the obvious solution is to call their CS, but I got these shoes in June and they only give you 14 days for returns, AND they were final sale. I've also poked 2 extra holes in the straps (they prob. wouldn't need to know that though). Being defective though, they *might* overlook these things...Not sure I want to try and deal with the hassle though

Part of me is relieved that I won't get to wear them because of my silly nervousness of wearing a shoe so high and unlike my usual type. That same part of me has the crazy idea of NOT calling them to complain and actually using the shoes as a piece of artwork for my bedroom somehow.

I've superglued the buckle back together and it's seems pretty sturdy right now (pulled on it, etc. after the glue dried), but I'm not sure it'll hold if I attempt to wear them out. Don't want it breaking while I'm wearing them and then me falling or something.

Am I completely crazy? Any advice on this at all? Yes, part of me is not happy that I spent $70 on them and haven't even worn them, but I don't know......

It can't hurt to call or send an email to CS, can it? I'd try it at least. Good luck!

I would at least call and see what their policy is.

Darn it.  I appear to not have an EDIT button, because I was going to say the problem's been solved!

Anyways, I did their Live Chat and explained the problem to the person.  I now get to return them AND I now have a 20% off online code that doesn't expire till 12/31/06 Yay!

Yay! I'm so glad it worked out!

I was going to say I had the same problem with a pair of SM shoes a few years ago. I had worn a pair of SM heels for 1/2 a day to work and the heel snapped off.  I went back to the store all nervous they wouldn't take them back, but they were very understanding and laughed it off and exchanged them for me.

It seems you got a better deal though, you get to return them and get discount too!
