I emailed the fug girls and they actually wrote me back! Well, I wrote to say how much I liked the site and to comment on two books they mentioned (two children's books I really liked when I was a kid) and they wrote back and just said "Thanks!" But I'm still totally psyched.

me too! I wrote them a while back commenting on a fug crime I had seen earlier that day and practically begging to be a fug intern (fugtern?) but I got no love.

exactly! I could do an all-NYC, all-Random Fug one, which would probably be 90% composed of girls I see at FIT. I decided a while ago I wanted to have little cards made that just said "NO" on them in big letters, and I would hand them out to people whom I spotted wearing something painfully unflattering or committing some heinous crime of peroxide/fake tan/etc. But I'd also want "YES!" cards too... I love seeing people who just look absolutely perfect, without even necessarily looking fancy at all. Ahh.

Maybe you should create a sample of your work and just send it to them? They may love it and take you up on your offer.

I've had very similar thoughts about YES! cards, although not as specific as making something to hand out. I always get the urge to compliment someone when they look really great, even people who pass me getting off the subway, but I usually don't say anything out of shyness. But really, who wouldn't love to get a random compliment? I also get the urge to cheer girls on who are out running and look tired, like "you can do it!" but I don't want them to misinterpret and think I'm making fun of them!
