UGH!! I hate buying pants
Permalink Closed

I went to the mall today to try to find pants that I really love, and I failed miserably. I must have tried 100 pairs of pants on - and nothing. Some were OK, but none I really loved.

I am willing to spend money to get 1 pair of quality black/dark gray (preferrably wool or woold blend) pants that fit me perfectly and I will wear all the time.

My biggest issue is that I am obsessed with my upper inner-thighs and I think they're hugely fat, so any pants that are remotely snug in that area bother me. However, when I find pants that are loose enough in that area..they're huge everywhere else.

Help.

Kitty, I could have written the exact same post.  My upper thighs are so difficult to fit.  I feel like if I find pants that fit them, the waist is too big or the rest of the pant is too big.  Or everywhere else fits fine, but the thigh is too snug.  Ugh.

Anyway, I've had luck with some Banana Republic pants and some Express Editors, although they can be hit or miss.

I'm interested to see what other people recommend.

Ahh, that's my problem too. I have very womanly thighs but I'm relatively thin elsewhere, especially in the waist- it makes for quite a combo trying to get pants to fit. I have actually had quite good luck with wide-leg pants from Anthro. I'm not sure why that is since the brands aren't the same everytime, but they seem to work quite well.

These are two that I'm gonna try for the fall:
gadabout trousersfarrier trousers

And I have these, which I wear just about every day:
graphite pants

All three appear to be quite wide legged, but the one pair I own (the third) fit fantastically so I have my fingers crossed.
HTH!
