seems like they're all the rage right now ... any opinions on these? Emily Grace has a 30% friends and family code (FRIENDS30) and i'm looking at these 2 in particular:
18" leg opening in ink:
16" straight-leg in black:
i am not nearly skinny enough to pull of the whole "skinny jean" look, so these are probably as close as i can get to the trend. however, i can't help but think that the first pair reminds of my first pair of "designer denim," my earl jeans circa 1999.
i have that second pair and i wear them CONSTANTLY. more than any of my other pants/jeans- they just go w/everything, and the brownish stitching plus slight wrinkling at the front plus not super tight leg makes them look less 80s- how i usually feel about black jeans. i only wish they were higher rise- if they were, i'd buy another pair.
I think 16" is the smallest size that any girl who's afraid of looking hippy can pull off well. I like the second pair...the first pair feels way less special and I have at least three brands that can do that silhouette just as good or better (AG, Joe's come immediately to mind)
I like the way J. Brand looks IRL but I've never tried them because the local boutiques haven't stocked anything larger than a 14" leg opening. For reference, I own a pair of Earnest Sewn Hefners that are basically straight-legged on me.
bumping this up b/c i wanted to ask if anyone knows how long the code is good for & if it works on sale merchandise? tia.
also can either of you review your jbrand jeans if you get a chance? i want a pair of non-logo jeans in a dark wash, and like the j brands, but i'm unsure of the sizing. i read on girlshop that you should size down? is that true?

unfortunately, the 30% off code expired yesterday. however, you can still use "TOUTIE" for a 20% discount, excluding sale items (similar to the friends & family code).
i've tried on the 14" cigarette leg and 16" straight leg in black and they both run true to size, imo. i wear a 29 in the true religion joeys, citizens, sevens, and rock and republics, and the same size in j brand jeans. however, i've never tried anything skinnier than those 2, so i'm not sure if those run smaller. hth!
i wear a 27 or 28, depending on how tight of a fit i want. i got these in 27 but i could have been fine w/a 28. the 27s are a tad tight on me, they stretch out, but i prob need to lose a few for them to truly fit well. so i'd say true to size, if you are truly between sizes, size down if you want a tighter fit.
